Purāṇa (पुराण - ancient) refers to Indian literature covering a large amount of material. Especially various legends and other local legends, the Purāṇas in each of them are rich in symbolic complexity. The Purāṇas are written mainly in Sanskrit. These poems are followed by Tamil and other Indian dialects, and they are often named after critical Hindu gods such as Vishnu, Shiva, Brahma, and Shakti. Purāṇa literature is not exclusively religious. Brahmin-Hindu only, But it appears in the Jain religion. Too.
