  • We find in it elements of the Sāṁkhya and the Yoga systems in Kaṭhopaniṣad or Kaṭha Upaniṣad. (from Indian Philosophy, page 142 written by His Excellency S. Radhakrishnan).
  • “The self-existent pierced the openings of the senses so that they turn outwards; therefore, man looks outward, not inward into himself; some wise man, however, with his eyes closed and wishing for immortality, saw the self behind.” (Kaṭha Up., iv. i.).
  • It is also recognized that the Vedic knowledge is much inferior to the true divine insight (Kaṭha, ii. 23).
