We find in it elements of the Sāṁkhya and the Yoga systems in Kaṭhopaniṣad or Kaṭha Upaniṣad. (from Indian Philosophy, page 142 written by His Excellency S. Radhakrishnan).
“The self-existent pierced the openings of the senses so that they turn outwards; therefore, man looks outward, not inward into himself; some wise man, however, with his eyes closed and wishing for immortality, saw the self behind.” (Kaṭha Up., iv. i.).
It is also recognized that the Vedic knowledge is much inferior to the true divine insight (Kaṭha, ii. 23).
