Wora Pho or Vorabhodi Temple is located on the west of Cha Krai canal (Klong Toh). No evidence has been found to indicate when it was built. According to some parts of Ayudhya annals. Phra Si Sin who later becomes King Song Dham (A.D.1620-1628) was a farmer highly-ranked monk at this temple. So the temple was undoubtedly built before the reign of King Song Dham.
Formerly, the temple was known as Wat ra Kang or the Temple of Bell. In the reign of King Barom Kot (AD.1732-1758) the name of the temple was changed to Wat Vorabhodi (Vorabhodi Temple). This because of Tree "Phra Si Maha Bodhi", was sent to the King from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and it was planted at this temple.
The main shrine here is the Main stupa (Prang) locating in the square gallery. On the North of the Main Stupa locating with a sanctuary (Viharn) building. A stupa and sanctuary of the Buddha's footprint on the South. All the buildings in the temple face to the east.
