Phra That Tad Thong (the pagoda of Tad Thong Temple) was built in the 18th century. The construction of this monument might be related to a folktale saying that villagers of a village heard of the renovation of the Phra That Phanom and decided to compile their valuable and holy objects to put inside of Phra That Phanom. On their way to Phra That Phanom when arriving at the village of Tad Thong, they met a group of villagers from another village who just returned from Phra That Phanom since the renovation was completed. Therefore, the villagers decided to put all of their valuable and sacred objects in a new under-construction pagoda that has become Phra That Tad Thong. Phra That Tad Thong is a tower-shaped pagoda built of bricks in a square plot on a multi-tiered base, with the top part in the form of a lotus. There are niches located at all 4 corners of the pagoda. In the past, there might be Buddha images situated in the niches. Also found at this temple complex are boundary stones dating to the Dvaravati period and a group of models of smaller pagodas. In front of Phra That Tad Thong, there is a traditional Northeastern-style house in a square plot, where a Buddha image in the Subduing Mara poses made by a local artist was enshrined.
