Khao Suwankhiri Temple located on the top of the hill at the center of Si Satchanalai ancient  town. It was built in Sukhothai period, circa 14th century A.D. The most interesting ancient monument is the main stupa. It is a terrific large round stupa. The lowest base is five levels high straight pedestals which can walk round in a clockwise direction to respect the stupa. Some parts of this stupa decorate with bas-relief stucco in walking Buddha images. This style of the stupa can compare with the main stupa of Chang Lom Temple, which built in the same period.
Other ancient monuments of Khao Suwan Khiri Temple are an ordination hall at the east of main stupa and several groups of buildings and subordinate stupas at the west of the main stupa.
