Nang Phaya Temple was built in the early Ayudhya period, circa 16th century A.D.  This is a large Buddhist monastery located in the main axis of Si Satchanalai town. So it should be an important temple in ancient times, but it did not appear on any historic chronicles.
The main stupa of Nang Phya Temple is around the stupa with an arch on each side. It looks similar to the main stupa of Phra Si Sanphet Temple in Ayudhya, which built in the same period.
The main vihara (Sanctuary) or the ordination hall of Nang Phya Temple is a seven rooms building. Built by laterite block and limestone plaster. The partition decorated with beautiful stucco reliefs. The stucco pattern of Nang Phya Temple displays the art influence from Chinese culture and Lanna culture.
Nowadays, the local goldsmiths develop the stucco pattern from Nang Phya to made the famous souvenir "Ancient Gold of Si Satchanalai".  (From the banner in front of Nang Phya Temple, accessed date: Nov.16,  2019)
