       Phra Si Rattana Mahathat (maybe written in Mahathati) Temple, commonly known as Wat Mahathat. It is a temple with a wide area. Located in the middle of Sukhothai Historical Park, Mueang Kao Subdistrict, Mueang Sukhothai District, Sukhothai Province 64210, is a temple built in the reign of Pho Khun Bang Klang Hao. (Pho Khun Si Inthrathit). This temple is big. Important of Sukhothai it was surrounded by walls and moats. Inside the temple consists of a Main Chedi (Pagoda) in the shape of a bush or lotus-top shape, a Viharn, a Mandapa,  a chapel (an Ubosot or Main Hall) a total of 200 chedis.

        The Main Chedi is topped with a lotus bud. It represents the uniqueness of pure Sukhothai art. Surrounded by the four directions Pagodas (Prangs) showing the influence of the ancient Cambodian Kingdom.
